Seven months ago something drastically changed in my life, my husband left me and the children and it was the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with. I had a simple life before, I was the one who looked after the children, kept the house clean and tidy, did all the cooking and tidying up, kept the garden and cars in order …… this was my world. I was obsessed with cleaning, it was something I did everyday without fail.
My life has changed so much and I have relaxed about so many things thanks to my world being turned upside down. Firstly the cleaning of my house …. did it really need cleaning every single day? No I don’t think so. Did I really have to make sure my washing machine was running 10 hours a day? …. No I don’t think so. Did I really have to stand there all day ironing everything I had washed? …. definitely not!!!! So here is what happened.
My little man is Lego mad, and being part of the Lego Family Blogger programme is the best job in the world according to Little Bird. A few months ago we were invited along to view the new Lego Galaxy range at the National Space Center in Nottingham and we were not disappointed. Little Bird loved the new products that were soon to be in the shops and worked his way around the room testing them all out. His favourite Lego set that day was the Galaxy Squad Bug Obliterator 70705 and he was over the moon when we were sent one to review.
When I had children I always wondered if they would grow up with my love for music. I have always been a girl that likes nothing more than to put on a good tune as loud as I can and sing at the top of my voice. When I was pregnant I played music to my bump in the hope that they would remember my favourite tunes and when they were babies I continued to play them music hoping that they would enjoy it as much as I do.
For the best part of this year my world has been upside down, I have had many ups and downs along the way its been a long hard road but I finally feel like I am starting to travel somewhere. Three months ago I went out for the first time as a single mum, I met and amazing man someone who was not a stranger, someone who I have grown up with and been friends with since we were babies. I believe in fate and the fact that he had just come out of a 14 year marriage like I had was clearly a sign not to be missed.
I had been a single parent for four months, bringing the children up full time alone was hard but I was doing it, looking back I don’t know how I got through it but I did. When I went on my first night out I wasn’t looking to find anyone else, I was looking to meet up with old friends and have a laugh, I never for one minute expected what I got.
After four months of ducking and diving and doing my best to keep my head above the water this man walked into my life. I will never forget our first meeting, it was lovely ….. we chatted about our partners leaving us and how we and our children had coped with it all. We exchanged numbers and kept in contact from there.
We are big fans of My Blue Nose Friends toys in our house. Big Bird has been collecting them since last year, she has the small little hard character playsets aswell as the big and small soft cuddly teddies. She loves the soft teddies best and sleeps with them most nights. Her collection started with her favourite animal which is a monkey. Little Bird picked it for her birthday last year.
We were recently sent the new collection of My Blue Nose Friends characters to review and Big Bird was over the moon when they arrived. She is building up quite a good collection although she has been sharing them with my partners two girls because they are mad about My Blue Nose Friends too, which is nice.
Welcome back to Mummy Bird’s Series 8 Moshi Countdown its Day 15 and today we are bringing another fab new character to you. These new Moshi’s will be available in shops to buy on the 18th October 2013 so keep your eyes peeled for them. Today we are pleased to introduce to you … Weeny
Weeny the Teeny Genie is fickle, enchanted and funny. Your wish is their command! Well that’s the idea but Teeny Genies are so mischievous they will only grant three wishes to monsters who can moonwalk on their hands and pat their heads at the same time. And don’t bother rubbing a Teeny Genie’s lamp because you will probably get a faceful of enchanted bubblegum!
Check out your loft, there could be a Teeny Genie hiding in an old bottle of Wobble-ade. Failing that, try the Caves of Shazam. Weeny likes treasure and blowing bubblegum and dislikes Wonky Wizards and sesame crackers.
Weeny is about to be released in Series 8 Moshi Monster Collectables. They come in blind bags and cost £1.99. Inside each bag you will get two Moshlings and a character card with a secret code for free in-game items. Another great Moshi toy from Vivid.
