The children are counting down the days to Christmas and with two days to go they are desperate to get started on this years advent calendars. Every year the children change their minds about what they would like on their advent calendar but this year there was only one theme they wanted and that was LEGO.

We’re a family that love sitting down and playing games together, its a great way of spending time with the children and having quality time with them. We were lucky enough to be asked to be part of the Ideal Games Group from John Adams and a few weeks ago we received a parcel containing three new games. The children were really excited to try them out, they have been working their way through the box and today we bring to you Gooey Louie.
Last week we received our latest puzzle as part of the Ravensburger Puzzle Club, with Christmas just around the corner there was only going to be one theme for this month. We were sent The Snowman and the Snowdog 100XXL piece puzzle to do and whilst Big Bird was off school poorly we decided to crack on with it.
As you all probably know by now my children are Moshi Monster mad. I recently attended Dream Toys in London where I discovered some new Moshi Monster Toys that are out in the shops to buy now. I was then offered the chance to review the Moshi Monsters Moshling Mall and I knew my children would love it. I had a little play with it in London and I have to say I was really impressed with it.
Little Bird has been seeing a counsellor recently to help him deal with the breakdown of our family. Being just 5 years old is really hard because he doesn’t fully understand whats happened and whats going on. He has been mirroring behaviour he has seen from both me and his father in the past and we were both keen to find him some help to deal with the future. He is getting on really well in his sessions which he now does in school time. Since the sessions have started and a professional person has been seeing him its made me realise what a smart little cookie I have. He may only be 5 years old but he has taken this massive change on his shoulders really well.
After every session the counsellor rings me to let me know how things have gone and if there is anything I need to know. Today when she rung me I was overwhelmed completely by what he told her. I told Little Bird last night about me and Mr M being together and he was really excited and happy to know that he will be around us more. I explained the situation the best I could to him and then asked him if he wanted to ask me any questions, there was only one thing he wanted to know and that was ….. “what time is he coming round?” followed by “I can’t wait.”
Last school year Little Bird completed one merit chart throughout his whole school year, so imagine how proud I was of him when he returned home this week with his first completed merit chart and he’s only been back at school for two and a half months. When he pulled out his completed merit chart from his book bag, he was so proud of himself and I was proud of him too. It is now proudly displayed on the fridge so he can see how well he has done. I am so proud of my boy, he’s doing really well at school, keep up the good work my little man.
I have said it once but will say it again, we are a family that love nothing more than playing games together, we sit down when we can to play its a great way of spending time with the children. We are lucky enough to be part of the Ideal Games Group from John Adams and last week we received a parcel containing three new games. We have been working our way through the games and today I bring to you …… Don’t take Busters Bones.
We love My Blue Nose Friends toys in our house. Big Bird has been collecting them for a long time now and she has got them all, everything from the small little hard character playsets to the big and small soft cuddly teddies. She loves the soft teddies best and sleeps with them most nights. Her collection started with her favourite animal which is a monkey and then grew from there.
